Word of the Week [GUMPTION]

I first heard the word GUMPTION in the film The Holiday and have been obsessed with it ever since. I love what the word means, I love what it represents, and I adore what it means in the context of that film. Gumption is all about being the leading lady of your own life, about taking initiative and making your life EVERYTHING that you want it to be. It’s about kicking ass and looking glamorous while doing it. I’ve always hoped that the world would seem me as a confident woman with a shit-load of gumption.

“A person filled with gumption doesn’t sit around dissipating and stewing about things. He’s at the front of the train of his own awareness, watching to see what’s up the track and meeting it when it comes. That’s gumption.” —  Robert M. Pirsig
